In the field of Adult Basic Education, one of our greatest obstacles is recruiting students into our programs. The 2000 Census show us that our target population in Mississippi is 536,482 or 28.53% of the population; however, we are not able to reach the majority of these citizens through traditional marketing strategies. In an effort to improve our state’s citizenry, we at Coahoma Community College are asking you to assist us in a joint effort.
What better way to help your communities than to encourage educational advancement! As Ann Frank stated, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Lets start making a difference in Coahoma, Quitman, & Tallahatchie Counties and improving the livelihoods of those around us. Please inform your communities that our ABE/GED classes are free of charge and available to anyone lacking a high school diploma. Also upon receiving a GED through our program, one free semester tuition is offered from Coahoma Community College. Help me extend a warm welcome to those in need of our services and encourage them to enroll in our program today.
With a little encouragement, it is quite possible that you can influence someone to attain his/her GED. If you are willing to join our collaborative effort to make Mississippi a better place, please take a few extra minutes and extend some helpful advice to someone in need of it. Your consideration is greatly appreciated and valued as we embark on a new tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Ethel Horton
