The Associate Degree Nursing Program:
- Awards an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing to its graduates.
- Prepares graduates to take the NCLEX-RNĀ® for practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Strives continually for excellence and is responsive to the needs of the community.
- Makes every effort to be student friendly and supports students to actively engage in their own learning.
- Is small enough to know each student as a unique individual.
- Offers planned teaching-learning experiences in the classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical setting each semester.
The Associate Degree Nursing faculty is:
- Fully qualified, clinically skilled, and highly committed to preparing graduates as nurse generalists who meet the standards for entry into safe practice in a variety of health care delivery settings.
- Further committed to preparing Registered Nurses who value life-long learning and demonstrate a passion for excellence in nursing by incorporating integrity, a caring attitude and a willingness to mentor other nurses into their practice, thereby preparing highly trained, dedicated, and motivated healthcare professionals for the community served by Coahoma Community College.

Mission
The mission of the Coahoma Community College (CCC) Associate Degree Nursing Program is to provide a quality associate degree nursing program to prepare highly educated, dedicated, and motivated registered nurses for the community served by Coahoma Community College.
Nursing Education Unit Goals
- To prepare the associate degree nursing graduate with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to successfully complete the credentialing process to practice as a registered nurse.
- To prepare the associate degree nursing graduate with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to enter the healthcare workforce and practice as a productive member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- To provide health care agencies and facilities with quality, respected registered nurses who are caring, independent thinkers and have the clinical reasoning skills needed to practice with excellence in the community in which they serve.
