Programs of Study

Traditional Three-Year Curriculum

The program opened in fall 2005 and provides a sixty-seven (67) credit hour program of study for non-licensed students. Twenty-seven (27) hours of prerequisites are required. Students are exposed to approximately 720 hours of clinical practice. At the end of the freshman year, students may take an Externship course that will provide an additional 320 hours of hands on clinical experience.

LPN/RN Fast Track

The LPN/RN Fast Track opened in summer 2006. This seventy-two (72) hour program is designed for the LPN who has successfully completed one year of clinical practice. Students must obtain twenty-seven (27) hours of prerequisite courses. Students may also petition for a Waiver of Recency for science courses, if more than five (5) years old, by providing proof the Science content is kept current through education, clinical experience, and training.

An offer of admission is extended to qualified applicants. The LPN/RN students must pass NUR 2012, Nursing Transition, in the Summer I term to receive credit for the freshman year and be eligible to enter in the fall as a sophomore student.
