Completion slated Oct. 15, 2010
CLARKSDALE – Despite recent wet weather, site preparation is progressing for Coahoma Community College’s new $6 million Administrative Building slated for completion Oct. 15, 2010, according to Jerone Shaw, CCC special projects coordinator.
Shaw says the two-story, 24,000 square-ft structure will be located next to the Pinnacle facing Friars Point Road. It will be flanked by new parking lots.
“By consolidating several departments in one location, it will make CCC user-friendly for our students,” continues Shaw.
“The first floor will house the business office, admissions, financial aid, and the college book store,” he says.
Currently these departments are in three separate buildings
He says the second floor will house the president’s suite, administrative offices, research and development, and a conference room.
Planning for the facility has been under way for two years.
Zellner Construction Services of Memphis was awarded the construction contract, and architects are Dean and Dean Associates of Jackson.
