Welcome to DISTANCE LEARNING!!!

Through Distance Learning at CCC, the barriers of time and travel have been removed.  Distance Learning allows CCC to continue meeting the goals of the institution by providing courses in a format that is flexible and convenient for learners.  In addition, distance learning gives CCC the ability to better serve the community.  Whether the student is a non-traditional or a traditional day student, distance learning courses provide a more flexible schedule and accessibility to higher education opportunities.

Distance Learning at CCC is delivered through the Internet via Blackboard or Desire2Learn (D2L) platforms.  Students work independently in an asynchronous format to complete coursework but unlike correspondence courses the coursework has defined due dates.  Except for proctored exams, campus attendance is not required.

CCC is a member of the Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC), which is a consortium of the state’s 15 public community colleges. Through the MSVCC, students may take courses from other community/junior colleges in Mississippi while getting support services from CCC, as long as the course is in the CCC college catalog. To take a course from a remote (provider) college, a student enrolls at CCC. CCC supports the student with a full slate of student services, including advisement and counseling, financial aid, and learning resources. CCC awards credit for the course. The remote (provider) college provides the course instruction.
