“Regardless of the circumstances and situations that may arise, in the end the only thing a person can control is their attitude; it is attitude that moves individuals to a higher level of success in endeavors,” said Business and Computer Information Systems Instructor Jeremy Pittman when asked about the wisdom he imparts to his students at Coahoma Community College.

Pittman joined CCC’s staff in August 2005.

He received an associate’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Holmes Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Management and Computer Information Systems from Delta State University, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Delta State University, and a master’s degree in Information Science Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Pittman was honored as CCC’s 2011 Higher Education Appreciation Day-Working for Academic Excellence (HEADWAE) Faculty Member of the Year. He is a 2013 Mississippi Black Leadership Institute Graduate and is currently enrolled in the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy.

Pittman believes that CCC’s greatest strengths are its accessibility and the affordability of its programs.

“The biggest service CCC provides is quality instruction by a great faculty,” he said.

Pittman’s favorite read includes W.E.B. Du Bois’ The Talented Tenth, and his hobbies include traveling, playing spades and role-playing games.

He has three philosophies about life: “Keep things short and simple; “Stay focused”; and “Don’t ever let others define success for you.”

His favorite quote is “I don't need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better."
