Joharrison Rockett believes Coahoma Community College not only provides a quality education, but also a network of support for its students.

Rockett joined CCC’s faculty in May 2007 as a math instructor. He received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Alcorn State University.  In 2008, Rockett was nominated for the prestigious Lamplighters award.

As an instructor, Rockett aims to help students develop a passion for learning by using real life situations to teach mathematical skills that will help them succeed in life.

“I often tell my students that ‘Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself,’” said Rockett.  “The Bible teaches us in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all thing through Christ who strengthens us. I hope to impart both a desire to learn and a desire to make a difference in this world.”

Rockett enjoys reading the Bible, vacationing with family, attending church, singing, counseling, teaching, and ministering the Word of God to people.  He also enjoys spending time with his family, meeting new people, working out at the gym, and gardening.
