The temperatures were elevated Monday afternoon from last week’s milder August weather, but Mother Nature’s increasing heat was no match for Coahoma Community College students who turned out to listen to cool tunes and turn it up on the dance floor.

The “Each One, Reach One” Student Recruitment Rally was held on the Student Affairs Multi-Complex Lawn during lunch hours and featured guest DJ Black Ice. The Rally was part of Operation Recruitment – an effort aimed at motivating potential students who applied online, but failed to register for classes.

CCC Students turned out in droves hoping to dance their way into a $100 gift certificate to the CCC Bookstore or perhaps even a new iPad. CCC President Dr. Valmadge Towner was on hand to talk with students, help judge the contest and share some of his own Tiger Pride.

Currents Coahoma students have been charged with recruiting those applicants who never showed up as part of the O-R Challenge. Successful recruiters become eligible to potentially receive a free iPad or $100 gift card from the CCC Bookstore.

Registration is open until Friday, August 23rd, and the Operation Recruitment contest starts Tuesday, August 20.

Students lined the sidewalk by the Union to grab a Burger and Hot Dog.
