Students currently enrolled, and those planning to take steps towards bettering their future using Coahoma Community College as a vehicle to success, are encouraged to go ahead and begin filling out the necessary paperwork to facilitate a smooth registration process for the Spring 2014 semester.

Early registration is currently underway and will continue through Jan.2, 2014 when formal registration will begin and last through Jan. 24th. According to Coahoma’s Director of Admissions Michael Houston, students should begin the process initially by filling out financial aid paperwork through the US Department of Education. A direct link to that paperwork can be found on Coahoma’s website (www.coahomacc.edu). Hover over the “Financial Aid” tab at the top of the page and you will be directed to “Complete Your FAFSA Today!”

Once this has been completed, students can fill out their admissions paperwork online as well on CCC’s website. It can be found by clicking “Apply to CCC Online” on our websites home page or under the “Admissions” tab on the homepage. Once these steps have been completed, prospective students will receive a letter letting them know that they are able to register for spring classes.

Those students who get a jump on the process, and take advantage of early registration, will of course have the first choices as to the times and availability of classes next semester.

“I would encourage students to first fill out their financial aid paperwork with the Department of Education, that way they can make sure that all of their financial obligations have been fulfilled,” said Houston. “The registration process is very smooth, especially for those who take advantage of registering early, the more time consuming process is getting the financial aid paperwork completed, and so it’s good to get that taken care of first.”

New students who will be filling out applications for admission will also need to make sure and have available an official high school (or college if applicable) transcript, a copy of their social security cards and their ACT scores.
