Thirty-Six Graduate Allied Health Short-Term Programs
Professional certificates were bestowed upon 36 Coahoma Community College students Thursday evening during a graduation ceremony held at the Georgia-Lewis Theater. The area’s newest EKG Technicians, Nursing Assistants and Emergency Medical Technicians were honored for completing their programs of study.
“We are here tonight to celebrate milestones,” said Short-Term Programs Coordinator Anthony Brooks. “We hope that this is the first step in a long journey, and we don’t want you to stop. We hope that you all will continue on to become doctors and nurses and continue to better yourselves. This is not the end, this is just the beginning.”
Assistant Vice President of Coahoma’s Health Sciences Department Beverly Overton thanked each of the students’ family and core supporters for helping to make the students’ successes possible.
“Whether you are 18 or 40 years of age, having that support is very important,” Overton told the crowd gathered at the ceremony. “Each of you now have the tools to go out there and find a good job, tonight we celebrate your success, you have met a goal in your lives and we want to congratulate you.”
