Tigers Drop Pair at Home Against East MS
CLARKSDALE — The Coahoma Community College men’s basketball team had their win streak snapped at three games on Monday night at home by the Lions of East Mississippi, 91-65. The Tigers fell behind by 18 points in the first half and were unable to recover.
The Tigers shot just (26-of-68) 42 percent from the field, 2-of-12 from behind the 3-point arc. Coahoma was led by Billy Jackson (Tunica, MS) and Xavier Graves (Bassfield, MS) who scored 15 and 14 points respectively.
The Tigers had previously defeated three consecutive division opponents and drop to .500 on the season in the MACJC, but still well within striking distance of a playoff berth. There are six more games left on the regular season schedule — all MACJC division matchups.
Itawamba (who will visit Coahoma Feb. 3) remains undefeated atop the North Division standings at 6-0. Northwest (4-2) sits in second, with Northeast MS now in third (3-2) and Coahoma in fourth (3-3).

Coahoma (0-5 MACJC and 1-12 overall) was led by Gabrielle Gilbert (Pine Bluff, AR) and Ariel Jones (Canton, MS) who scored 11 and 10 points respectively.
Both teams will travel to Senatobia on Thursday to take on the Rangers in another MACJC North division matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for the Lady Tigers at 5 p.m. with the Tigers to follow at 7 p.m.
