CCC to Host New Coffee with Entrepreneur Series
CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College students, alumni and community members are invited to come enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while enjoying engaging conversation with local business-owners during the first Coffee with Entrepreneurs series.
Coffee with Entrepreneurs is an event designed to give CCC students the opportunity to connect with other students and community members over coffee and doughnuts while networking with successful local entrepreneurs.
Sponsored by the Division of Student Services’ Career Services and Placement, the free event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in CCC’s Career Center located on the second floor of the Zee A. Barron Student Union.
According to Trina Cox, coordinator of career services and placement, confirmed entrepreneurs for the upcoming event include Wilbert Johnson, a Clarksdale attorney with his own firm; local business owner Lamar Hicks; and CCC Talent Search Director and entrepreneur Joseph McKee.
“It’s nothing formal, just the chance for students to pick the brains of some local entrepreneurs in a relaxed atmosphere,” said Cox. “We have some talented students, many who just don’t know what their talents are, so this gives them the opportunity to see what it takes to succeed from accomplished individuals right here is community.
Cox said she plans to host a Coffee with Entrepreneurs regularly and believes the program will help establish a stronger relationship between CCC and the community.
