Six young ladies are seeking to represent Tiger Nation during Homecoming 2017 as Coahoma Community College’s Homecoming Queen.

Each year, CCC students cast their ballots to elect an exemplary young woman to represent to student body during homecoming events. Candidate qualifications include a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, evidence of community service, three letters of recommendation and a pleasing personality.

This year’s candidates, who are all sophomores, include: Pre-Dental Hygiene major, ShaTerrika Bernard of Leland, MS; General Education major, Rayverlin Butler of Shelby, MS; Pre-Dental Hygiene major, Raven Glenn of Louisville, MS; Pre-Nursing major, Victoria Granberry of Clarksdale, MS; Kinesiology major, Ashley King of Greenville, MS; and Pre-Nursing major, Sherneyce Scott of Greenville, MS.

 “I am excited about the candidates running for Miss Homecoming. This group of young ladies is energetic and ready to show Tiger Pride as they run for Miss Homecoming 2017,” said CCC Assistant Director of Enrollment and Student Services, LaShasa Griffin. “I am overjoyed with the representation of students wanting to be involved at Coahoma Community College, and I’m looking for great things from these young ladies who are more than capable to represent the college in this fun-filled week of events.”

Following the close of the election, the new queen will be crowned during halftime of the Homecoming game on October 28.

Online voting will begin on Thursday, October 19 at 8:00 a.m. Students can vote in the Tutorial Lab, located on the second-floor of the Zee A. Barron Student Union.
