CLARKSDALE – Coahoma Community College is proud to announce its June 2017 faculty and staff Employees of the Month.

Honored as the faculty Employee of the Month is Deborah Carter of Clarksdale, MS.

Carter has served as an instructor for CCC’s Business/Computer Information Systems program since 1998 and as chair of the program since 2000.

She is a proud alumna of Alcorn State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She earned a master’s degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Delta State University.

Carter is a silver member of the Iota Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; a 2006 graduate of the Mississippi State Community College Leadership Academy; a Sam Walton Fellow; and an Enactus sponsor.

According to Carter, witnessing her students progress is the most rewarding aspect of her job.

“I enjoy seeing the students grow to become productive citizens,” she said.

Carter said she feels honored to be recognized.

“I am grateful and thankful to be named the faculty Employee of the Month,” she said.

Outside of work, Carter enjoys attending her church (Damascus MB Church of Clarksdale, MS), going to football games, attending concerts, walking and reading.

Honored as CCC’s staff Employee of the Month is Aneika Moore of Mound Bayou, MS.

Moore has served as a navigator for CCC’s Division of Health Sciences for the past three years.

Prior to that, she worked for six years as a high school counselor for John F. Kennedy High School in Mound Bayou, MS.

Moore received her master’s and education specialist degrees in Counseling from Delta State University.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Moore said she enjoys watching students go on to earn successful careers.

“I love seeing former students working in their designated fields and continue to develop themselves professionally,” she said.

Moore said she feels encouraged by the unexpected recognition.

“It’s humbling to know that someone has observed me at work and felt that I was deserving of such an honor,” she said. “It is very motivating.”

Moore’s hobbies are spending time with her two small children and watching their personalities unfold.

The purpose of CCC’s Employee of the Month program is to recognize and reward faculty and staff who exhibit work and behaviors that support and further the mission, goals, values and initiatives of Coahoma Community College.

Each Employee of the Month winner receives a picture, a designated parking spot, a shirt from CCC’s Bookstore, a hair style or cut courtesy of CCC’s Cosmetology/Barbering Department, marquee announcement and website recognition.
