CLARKSDALE – It’s been a busy week for the Coahoma Community College Choir.

The talented singers kicked off CCC’s 2017 Cultural Awareness Week Sunday evening with a stirring Spring Concert.

Fifteen hours later, they began vigorously preparing for another highly anticipated event—the annual Spring Gospel Concert.

Slated for 6 p.m. Sunday, April 9, the free concert will be held at Clarksdale’s Union Grove M.B. Church, located at 2237 North State St.

In addition to CCC’s powerhouse Gospel Choir, the event will also feature national recording artist and choir Kevin Lemons and Higher Calling of Atlanta, GA.

Known for their soulful and dynamic sound, Kevin Lemons and Higher Calling has performed with gospel artists such as Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, Donald Lawrence and DeWayne Woods.

The music ministry has also been featured on BET’s Bobby Jones “Next Generation” as well as Gospel Music Channel’s “The Kitchen Sink.”

“Sunday’s concert was simply amazing,” said CCC Choir Director Kelvin Towers. “We invite the community to join us for an encore as we produce another great night of music and praise during our Gospel Concert.”
