The Coahoma Community College campus was witness to an evening of elegance, as its 2018-19 royal court was formally crowned.

Themed "A Night of Egyptian Intrigue", the event was highlighted by the crowning of Mr. and Miss Coahoma Community College, Jeremiah Collins and J’Terrica Trotter.

Coronation 2018

The Coahoma Community College campus was witness to an evening of elegance, as its 2018-19 royal court was formally crowned.

Themed "A Night of Egyptian Intrigue", the event was highlighted by the crowning of Mr. and Miss Coahoma Community College, Jeremiah Collins and J’Terrica Trotter.

Jeremiah is the son of Tiffany Cage and Lamond Collins of Greenville, MS.  He is the sixth of seven children and a graduate of Greenville High School. 

Coronation 2018Currently, Collins is a freshman exercise science major and member of the Coahoma Community College Choir.  Jeremiah plans to attend Mississippi State University upon graduating from CCC. He aspires to become a physical therapist and one day start a family.   

Collins is excited about this life-changing opportunity and is ready to bring change to CCC.

“This is something I’ve dreamt of for a long time now,” said Collins. “I am honored and privileged to represent Coahoma Community College. I hope to work toward bridging the gap between students, faculty, and staff.”

J’Terrica Trotter is the 19-year-old daughter of Juwan and Terry Trotter of Cleveland, MS. She is a member of St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church and serves as a member of the praise team, mass, and youth choirs.

Trotter is a graduate of East Side High School and served as Miss East Side High 2016-17. 

J’Terrica is a pre-nursing major and member of the CCC Dancing Jewels. Upon graduating from Coahoma, she plans to continue her education at the Alcorn State University. Ultimately, she would like to become a traveling nurse.

Trotter is thrilled to represent Coahoma and looks forward to working with CCC’s Student Government Association (SGA).

“It is an honor to be crowned Miss Coahoma Community College. I’m ready to work with the SGA,” said Trotter. “I want to interact with not only the CCC community but the community at-large. I want to be able to give back and make a difference.”

The night also featured CCC’s royal gentlemen, elegantly dressed in black tuxedos, along with royal ladies, who were adorned in complementing black and gold gowns. These individuals serve as representatives of campus organizations and auxiliary units; comprising of the High Court, Higher Court, Highest Court and the Royal Court.

Mr. and Miss CCC will serve as ambassadors to Coahoma Community College, in which they may be asked to represent the college to prospective students and parents, as well as donors, and external constituents.

The pair was also presented with a commemorative plaque and financial gift from the CCC Campus Alumni chapter.
