PSG 1116 INTRODUCTION TO POLYSOMNOGRAPHY

This course introduces the   polysomnography profession. Topics include the history of the profession and role of the polysomnographic technologist, communication, time management, infection control, basic patient assessment, and medical gas therapy. The course also proves a concentrated study of anatomy and physiology for the nervous, cardiovascular, and pulmonary systems and basic pharmacological principles. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate competence in concepts through written and laboratory evaluations. (6 semester credit hours: 4 lecture hours, 2 lab hours)
