Welcome home!  I say welcome home because Coahoma Community College is much more than an institution of higher learning; it is a home away from home.  As you venture away from one plateau and begin to construct what will become the first act in the dramatic play called life, I would like to extend this welcome to you.  You have made the choice to become a member of the best community college family in the country. At Coahoma, you will develop the academic skills and build the positive networking relationships that will serve you in your life endeavors.

Here in ‘Tiger Nation’, you will receive the guidance, support, and extra push that will be needed in order to become a grounded, well-rounded, successful individual.  Supportive and capable administrators and faculty members will fuel the drive that you will develop to become the best that you can be.  Long-lasting friendships will be developed that will help to develop a positive outlook on life, as you will be more equipped to make your mark in the world.

The decision that you have made to grace Coahoma Community College with your presence has signified the beginning of a new era of Barack Obamas, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jrs., Condoleeza Rices, Jerry Rices, and Oprah Winfreys.  As we embark on this adventure together, remember that the race is not given to the swift or the strong, but to those who endure to the end.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the President, administrators, faculty, staff, and student body of your home away from home, Coahoma Community College, I would like to officially extend this heartfelt welcome.  If there is anything that I can do to make your stay here a better one, please make your presence known. Have a great academic year!

Sincerely,

Christopher A. Tucker
