Portraying ‘Hannah’ from Night of the Iguana, actress/author Ann Fisher-Wirth (left) ties up demented actor Johnny McPhail as ‘Shannon’ from the Tennessee Williams play in a live reading at the Cutrer Mansion under the watchful eyes of theatre professionals Robert Canon of Sardis, Thomas Keith, and David Kaplan, both from New York City. Variations of the scene were re-enacted several times.

 


Actors Leslee Young as ‘Flora Meighan’ and Jeff Glickman as ‘Jake" of the Pensacola Little Theatre perform ‘Twenty-Seven Wagons Full of Cotton’ before a large audience outside the residence of Dr. Mike and Tami Barr, the former Mississippi Governor Earl Brewer mansion.


Clarksdale High School drama students of Wanda Lee perform scenes from several Tennessee Willilams plays including ‘The Glass Menagerie,’ on the porch of the John Sherman Law Firm.


Dr. Mike and Tami Barr welcome Broadway stars Tammy Grimes and Joel Vig to their home for a Friday night reception featuring cuisine by Coahoma Community College’s culinary arts department, music by actress Janna Montgomery, and the CCC gospel ensemble.

Tony Award-winning actress Tammy Grimes is surrounded by student actors from Power APAC, Jackson’s performing arts school. The students competed the next day in the Student Drama Competition at Coahoma Community College.


A panel of scholars commenting on the film screening of ‘Night of the Ignaua’ include (from left) Dr. Colby Kullman of the University of Mississippi; theatre administrator Robert Canon of Sardis; writer and John Grishman fellow Anna Baker of California; Dr. Ralph Voss of the University of Alabama; Travis Montgomery, doctoral candidate at the University of Mississippi; and Thomas Keith, editor of New Directions Publishing of New York City.
