Mission

The goal of the CCC Workforce Development Center is to provide workforce education to the citizens of Coahoma, Bolivar, Tunica, Quitman and Tallahatchie Counties giving them the skills needed to be more productive and have an improved quality of life, and to provide the employers of our area a better trained and educated workforce.

Workforce Development has a three-fold Mission:

  • Customized Pre-employment training, which will assure a capable and well-trained workforce for new and expanding industries.
  • Post-employment training for new and existing industries.
  • Retraining or upgrading employees for existing industries.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
Customized pre-employment training is provided to applications before they are hired. This training is to prepare trainees for immediate placement in new jobs.

POST-EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
Customized on-the-job training (COJT) programs are conducted after the employees have been hired. This training provides job specific training.

RETRAINING AND UPGRADE TRAINING
Customized retraining is developed for existing company employees to meet changing skill requirements caused by new technology.

Upgrade training consists of courses designed to assist industry employees in advancing from one job level to another.
