Shop Mechanic

Position Title:  Shop Mechanic

Department:  Transportation

Immediate Supervisor’s Title:  Transportation Supervisor

Positions Supervised:  None

Term of Positions:  12 months

Minimum Requirements:  High School Diploma or High School Equivalent, must have prior experience as a mechanic.

Duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Provide preventative maintenance and repairs on all vehicles own by the institution
    • Cars, trucks, and utility vehicles
    • High school buses
  • Advise/cooperate with the Supervisor of Transportation on acquiring needed parts/materials.
  • Make basic repairs to shop equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with other shop employees.
  • Report any vehicle that is not safe to operate to the Transportation Supervisor.
