The purpose of the Employee of the Month program is to recognize and reward one faculty member and one staff member each month who exhibits work and behaviors that support and further the mission, goals, values and initiatives of Coahoma Community College.

Kenneth Gooden

Mr. Kenneth Gooden has earned recognition for his exceptional leadership and national contributions to campus safety and advocacy. He was selected to participate in major initiatives with the Office of Violence Against Women (OVW)and the National Organization for Victim Advocacy (NOVA), including filmed training series and national panels addressing violence prevention on college campuses. Known for his servant leadership and quiet strength, Mr. Gooden continues to make a lasting impact through his compassion, professionalism, and dedication to student and community well-being. Anthony "Tony" Brooks

Mr. Anthony “Tony” Brooks is being recognized for his remarkable dedication to student success and the Health Sciences Division. When staffing challenges arose, he stepped up to teach additional classes, ensuring uninterrupted learning for students. In addition to his teaching duties, he coordinates short-term training programs, manages grants, and expands educational access through strong community partnerships. Carlos Pelaez

Known affectionately as Mr. P., Mr. Pelaez continues to inspire through his passion for teaching and service. He was recently recognized with the SkillsUSA Advisor Award, contributed to Habitat for Humanity projects, and was named among CCC’s 2025 “20 Under 40” Young Alumni. His dedication to student success and hands-on leadership make him an outstanding example of excellence in education. Congratulations, Mr. Pelaez, on being named Faculty Employee of the Month!
