(Clarksdale, Mississippi) – Coahoma Community College is gearing up to officially welcome its incoming students at the Fall 2025 New Student Orientation (NSO) on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The orientation will take place at The Pinnacle, located on the main campus, and will offer students a full day of informative sessions, interactive activities, and an inside look at life as a Coahoma Tiger.
This in-person orientation is designed to help first-time college students transition into their new academic environment with confidence. NSO serves as a foundational experience that introduces participants to the college’s expectations, services, and opportunities, ensuring they begin the semester informed, prepared, and supported.
During orientation, students will receive valuable information about instructional programs of study, housing, financial aid, fees and expenses, student health and insurance, Coahoma’s goals and mission, and academic policies. The day also highlights vital student services such as counseling, retention support, and student life initiatives, ensuring students know exactly where to turn for help, guidance, or inspiration.
"New Student Orientation isn’t just about what to expect in the classroom—it's about building connections, discovering resources, and stepping into a community that is ready to champion your success,” said Karen Done, Director of Student Engagment. “We want every student to leave this experience feeling confident, capable, and part of something special here at Coahoma.”
In addition to gaining important academic knowledge, students will take part in team-building experiences, breakout sessions, and a Student Success session focused on fostering personal and academic achievement. Prizes, refreshments, and an engaging campus environment will make for a welcoming and energetic introduction to college life.
