Coahoma Community College Practical Nursing program is continuing its record of excellence, with 18 students successfully passing the NCLEX-PN and maintaining a 100% pass rate among all students who have tested so far.
The achievement marked the Practical Nursing program’s fourth consecutive year with a 100% NCLEX-PN pass rate, representing another significant milestone for the Coahoma Community College Health Sciences Division.

The current results reflect the Practical Nursing program's continued emphasis on classroom instruction, clinical preparation, critical-thinking skills and readiness for professional licensure. The consecutive 100% pass-rate record also serves as an important measure of student achievement and program performance within the nursing and health sciences programs at Coahoma Community College.

Maintaining a 100% passing rate is also attestation to the effectiveness of the division’s leadership and classroom instructors. We are thrilled for the program and we celebrate the health sciences leadership, faculty and students. It is encouraging to know that many of our future health care providers are adept in their field and they were trained right here by faculty of Coahoma Community College,” said Dr. Towner, president of Coahoma Community College.
Under the leadership of Dr. Chequitia Dixon, dean of the Health Sciences Division, the Practical Nursing program continues to demonstrate strong student outcomes and a sustained commitment to academic and clinical excellence.

Faculty members within the Practical Nursing program prepare students for the responsibilities of nursing practice through a combination of nursing theory, skills-based instruction, laboratory experiences and clinical education. The program's licensure results demonstrate how that preparation translates into student success on a national examination and into readiness for the next stage of graduates' professional careers.
A fourth consecutive year with a 100% NCLEX-PN pass rate represents sustained success for the program and provide another benchmark for the Health Sciences Division. Rather than representing the accomplishment of a single class, the four-year record reflects multiple cohorts of students progressing from nursing education to successful completion of the licensure examination.
The achievement is also significant because successful NCLEX-PN completion allows graduates to move closer to entering the nursing workforce at a time when qualified health care professionals remain essential to communities throughout the Mississippi Delta and beyond. Coahoma Community College's Practical Nursing program is designed to prepare students with the knowledge and clinical competencies needed to pursue licensure and begin serving patients in professional health care environments.
Practical Nursing Program Director Teri Williams said, “We are incredibly proud of the continued success of our students. Achieving a 100% NCLEX pass rate for four consecutive years is a remarkable milestone that reflects the strength of our Practical Nursing program and the high standards of excellence we continuously strive to maintain. This accomplishment would not be possible without the continued support and dedication of our faculty, who consistently invest their time, knowledge, and expertise in preparing students to become competent, confident, and compassionate nurses. The collective dedication of our students and faculty continues to bring distinction to the Health Sciences Division, Practical Nursing program, and Coahoma Community College. For the students, passing the NCLEX-PN represents the culmination of extensive classroom study, laboratory practice, clinical experiences, examinations and preparation for professional licensure. Their success enables them to move forward with the state licensure process and pursue opportunities in practical nursing.
