(Clarksdale, Mississippi) — Coahoma Community College is proud to announce that Amy Chudy (2nd from the right, top row), adjunct art instructor, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Professional Educators (MPE) and is currently pursuing National Board Teacher Certification—two major milestones that reflect her deep commitment to excellence in education.

Chudy, who has brought vibrant creativity and dedication to CCC’s Art Department, now joins an esteemed group of educators guiding the mission of MPE, Mississippi’s largest and premier organization for professional educators. Her appointment places her in a key leadership position that will help shape the future of education throughout the state.

In addition to her board appointment, Chudy is actively working toward National Board Teacher Certification, one of the most respected professional certifications available in K-12 education. This rigorous, peer-reviewed process recognizes accomplished teaching and promotes both excellence and equity in the classroom.

“I believe in the power of education to transform lives,” said Chudy. “Serving on the MPE Board of Directors is an opportunity to advocate for teachers and students across Mississippi. Pursuing National Board Certification is a personal and professional goal that allows me to grow as an educator and better support my students’ success.”

“We’re incredibly proud of Ms. Chudy’s achievements,” said Dr. Valmadge Towner, President of Coahoma Community College. “Her leadership and commitment to professional growth exemplify the kind of high-quality instruction and mentorship we strive to provide our students.”

With her recent accomplishments, Chudy continues to elevate the academic experience at CCC while also advocating for the teaching profession on a broader scale.
