DR. McGee(Clarksdale, Mississippi) — Coahoma Community College is proud to announce Dr. Charledria McGee as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Health Sciences Pinning Ceremony, set to take place Thursday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pinnacle.

A native of Rosedale, Mississippi, Dr. McGee exemplifies the power of perseverance, service, and academic achievement. She began her nursing journey at just 19 years old as a Licensed Practical Nurse and steadily advanced through the ranks—earning her Associate Degree Nursing from Coahoma Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.

Dr. McGee is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, licensed in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and holds memberships in the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Tennessee Nurses Association, and Mississippi Nurses Association.

As the founder of Bloom Behavioral Health & Wellness, Dr. McGee provides critical mental health services across the Mid-South. She serves as a mental health consultant and provider at three post-acute care facilities in Memphis, inpatient psychiatric provider at two behavioral health hospitals, and as a provider for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Her story resonates deeply with Coahoma’s mission of academic excellence, and her return to campus symbolizes a full-circle moment for both students and faculty. More than her professional accolades, Dr. McGee proudly embraces her most important role as wife to Travis McGee and mother to two daughters, Chyna and Cali.

"We are honored to welcome Dr. McGee back home to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals," said Dr. Valmadge T. Towner, President of Coahoma Community College. "Her journey from CCC student to healthcare leader serves as a remarkable testament to what our students are capable of achieving."

The pinning ceremony will recognize graduates from the Associate Degree Nursing, Polysomnography Technology, and Respiratory Care programs.
