The Workforce Development Center is committed to training for the future workforce. Working closely with the WIN Job Center and area businesses/industries, classes and curriculum are developed to provide short-term training for individuals seeking to enter the workforce or upgrade their skills. We keep abreast of current labor market trends to offer training that will meet the workforce needs in the community, as well as providing a marketable skill for individuals.

Industrial Lift Operations
The Industrial Lift Operations course is designed to cover the current safety training requirements found in the OSHA standard for Powered Industrial Trucks. The training covers forklift safety rules and regulations for all types and classifications of lift trucks. It focuses on operating procedures, such as how to drive the forklift and operate the lift safely.

Job interview etiquette is key to making a great first impression on an employer. Interviewers will notice specific things about a potential employee and this will set the tone for the rest of your interview. Whether the interview is in person or remote, your etiquette can directly affect whether you get the job or not. Let us help you develop the skills to land the job.
National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
The ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (ACT WorkKeys NCRC®) is an assessment-based credential issued at four levels; Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The NCRC measures and certifies the essential work skills needed for success in jobs across industries and occupations.
Pre-Employment Training
To remain competitive, companies have to know that you will be a valuable employee. We will work together to enhance the competencies of you as an employee. We have designed a program that will boost workplace performance in alliance with any company’s core values.
Welding
This class is designed to give the student entry-level skills in welding and cutting. The intent is to prepare students to do basic GMAW and SMAW welding jobs that some industries and small businesses require.
Short-Term Health Science Classes
Emergency Medical Technician
Dates: August-December and January-June
The EMT program provides classroom and laboratory instruction for entry level Emergency Medical Technicians following the current National DOT curriculum. Emergency Medical Technician-Basic is an instructional program that prepares individuals to function in the pre-hospital environment. The EMT-Basic program provides instruction in basic life support care of sick and injured persons. This includes airway assessment, communications, documentation, general pharmacology, hemorrhage control, ambulance operations, and splinting of adult, pediatric, and infant patients; and special care patients exposed to heat, cold, radiation, or contagious disease.
EKG
Dates: Fall Semester: August-December
This is a 10 week certificate program designed to train entry-level students for performing and evaluation of EKGs. Application must be completed by August 15 for admission to the class for the fall semester.
Nursing Assistant
Dates: Fall Semester: August-December and Spring Semester: January-May
This certificate program is a 10-week class designed to offer practical experience in nursing assistant training to aid the participant in finding employment as a healthcare team under the direction of a healthcare professional. Students must submit a completed application by mid-August.
Phlebotomy
Dates: Spring Semester; January-May
This is a 1 semester certificate program designed to train entry-level students for drawing blood in hospitals and doctors' offices. Application must be completed by November 20th for admission to the class for the following spring semester.
