Tribute to Veterans
Throughout the month of November, we will host A Tribute to Veterans—a series of events and displays honoring the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. This month-long observance is dedicated to expressing gratitude, sharing stories, and recognizing the courage, sacrifice, and commitment of our veterans. Join us as we remember their service and celebrate their lasting impact on our nation and community.
Monday, November 3
Moment of Silence to Honor Veterans
As we enter November, a month of gratitude and remembrance, we take a moment of silence to honor our veterans. In honor of our veterans, we will pause for a two-minute moment of silence. At noon, a sound will signal across campus, inviting everyone to stop wherever they are and join together in a quiet tribute to those who have served.

BASKETBALL GAME - MILITARY NIGHT
Join us for Military Night at the basketball game in the Pinnacle! The game starts at 5:30 PM as we recognize and celebrate the brave men and women who have served our country with courage and dedication.
Tuesday, November 11
Celebration of Service
Join us for the Annual Veteran’s Program, hosted by Student Engagement, as we honor the brave men and women who have served our nation with courage and sacrifice.
Monday, November 17
Carry the Load
Coahoma Community College will honor our nation’s heroes with the “Carry the Load” Walk—a powerful and symbolic event raising awareness about the challenges faced by veterans, especially concerning mental health and suicide prevention.
Students, employees, and community members will gather to walk together in unity, with each step serving as a reminder of the sacrifices made and the ongoing support our veterans deserve.
November 19-21
A Tribute to Veterans Exhibit
The “A Tribute to Veterans” Exhibit will feature a variety of meaningful displays and interactive elements, including a Wall of Honor, Flags and Cross Garden, Reflection Board, and A Veteran’s Story. Each element is designed to offer visitors a chance to reflect, remember, and express gratitude for the courage and sacrifice of those who have served.

Thank you for your service
During the Week of Thanksgiving, the Office of Communications and Marketing will post handwritten notes on social media from faculty, staff, students, and community members expressing gratitude to veterans.
