Coahoma's Educational Outreach department is delighted about selecting Clarksdale Miss. native Monica Moore Johnson as the eLearning Coordinator.

Having followed in the footsteps of her parents, George W. Moore and Katie S. Moore, who were educators, Johnson brings 12-plus years of online instruction experience at two colleges and a university. She will draw on past work to coordinate virtual services for Coahoma Community College students. Johnson initially joined staff only as the instructional design specialist last October. Her promotion to eLearning Coordinator has come within a year of the employment change.

"I am ecstatic to have been passed the baton to continue the trajectory of virtual learning excellence. What a great time to serve in such a capacity when we are embracing the opportunities to equip, educate, and graduate students beyond the traditional classroom by meeting their needs through our virtual course offerings and future programs," Johnson expressed.

"There is so much potential in our future leaders, and I am blessed to be an ingredient of success. I am passionate about encouraging people not to just dream but to achieve and live in their divine purpose. E-learning is the trajectile into the future of business, marketing, healthcare, technology, and science."

Johnson completed her undergraduate education at Rust College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in computer science with a minor in mathematics. Choosing to enhance her background with graduate study, she attained a Master of Education in Sociology from Delta State University. Her most recent achievements include creating a Professional Development Suite for CCC faculty along with earning both the Quality Matters 'Teaching Online' and 'Designing your Blended Course' certificates.

A lover of crafting, creating, and traveling, Johnson is an active member of the Psi Beta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and Brown Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves as the Children and Youth Coordinator/Director. She is married to William Johnson, with whom she parents three beautiful, bright, and blessed children; Kailynn, Dillon, and Micahya.

While virtual means remain a staple in higher education and continues to serve students with various demands, Johnson is grateful to have adequate support. She says, "These experiences and great networks of eLearning professionals have equipped me for this time."

Director of Educational Outreach William Wade shares similar sentiments and is confident in the expertise she's capable of contributing as the eLearning Coordinator and Instructional Design Specialist.

"Mrs. Monica Moore-Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience about how to help our student body and our Professors succeed at all levels and set them up to thrive in school and life," said Wade.

"The current school year will be a critical time as students return to classrooms and our eLearning platform. She will work to address the disruptions to learning and the emotional toll of the pandemic. Mrs. Moore-Johnson will support Professors in designing engaging lessons while delivering content. We couldn't ask for a more qualified and knowledgeable leader to help guide us through this process. We welcome Mrs. Monica Moore-Johnson to our team."
