In an effort to bring clarity and awareness to the campus community, Coahoma Community College recently released a COVID-19 Exposure Guide.
The document, which is the product of a campus-wide effort, details what students should do if exposed to COVID-19, listing subsequent actions to be taken to better support a safe and healthy campus environment.
Karen Woods-Done, director of Student Engagement, said that the guide and other COVID-related changes came about as the institution continues to closely monitor the ever-developing pandemic.
“We are looking forward to a healthy and productive semester. During the holiday break, we monitored the cases of the COVID-19 omicron variant in our community and coordinated with our local health agencies,” said Woods-Done. “With a continued focus on the safety and well-being of our campus community, we wanted to provide some updates and reminders of our safety protocols and procedures that remain in effect during spring 2022.
The CCC COVID Response Team and college leadership continue to monitor developments locally and nationally. The group has dedicated itself to being change agile as new developments present themselves.
“Prevention is our best option. Get vaccinated, get boosted, wear a mask in public settings and in areas of substantial and high community transmission, and take a test when exposed,” added Woods-Done.
Regardless of vaccination status, CCC officials encourage all students and employees to test for COVID-19. Free testing is available in the Health Services Nurse’s Station, located in the Student Affairs Multi-Complex Center. As a reminder, on-campus testing appointments are available to students, faculty, and staff.
Coahoma Community College thanks the campus community for their dedication to the health and safety of its campus.
