Clarksdale, Mississippi — Members of Coahoma Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)
Honor Society recently represented the institution at the Fall 2024 PTK Leadership
Conference, held in Biloxi, Mississippi, from September 5-6. The annual event brings
together honor society members from across the state for two days of leadership development,
inspiration, and education.
Hosted by the Mississippi/Louisiana Region of Phi Theta Kappa, the conference features
a diverse lineup of speakers and educational sessions designed to empower students
to excel academically and lead effectively. Participants engaged in workshops aimed
at enhancing leadership skills, understanding the mission of PTK, and preparing for
future academic and professional success.
The conference also featured the induction of regional officers, a highlight of the
event, which reinforced PTK’s core values of scholarship, leadership, service, and
fellowship. Additionally, a college and career fair provided attendees with insights
into further educational opportunities and potential career paths.
PTK Advisor Joharrison Rockett expressed his pride in the participating students,
stating, “Our Phi Theta Kappa members continually exhibit outstanding leadership and
commitment to their academic and personal growth. This conference offers invaluable
experiences, and we are confident they will bring back knowledge and inspiration to
benefit the entire CCC community.”
The Coahoma Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa remains dedicated to promoting
