Comm. Career Fair 23

The Coahoma Community College campus will soon welcome over 15 organizations for the inaugural President Valmadge T. Towner Community & Career Fair scheduled on Thursday, March 23, 2023, in the Pinnacle from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

As an institution, CCC is committed to preparing students for college or university transfer and entry into a skilled workforce—making this in-person event align with Coahoma's mission of providing educational and career opportunities for its students and the community.

Tolernisa Butler, director of Educational Outreach, has been working diligently to put this event in motion and is excited to bring this opportunity to the CCC community.

"I have been reaching out to local businesses, 4-year institutions, spreading the word in the community, and speaking at church events," said Butler.

Butler hopes that the event, which will showcase CCC program offerings and provide potential job opportunities, will bring awareness to the different life-changing options that exist in the career and technical education sphere.

The event will provide opportunities for students to connect with potential full-time employment and internship opportunities. Employers will represent a wide range of organizations and 4-year college programs recruiting all majors.

"I am excited about exposing our students, past and present, to the many opportunities that will be exposed at this career fair. I am also excited to bring onboard new exhibitors for the first time at our great institution," said Butler.

This opportunity allows students and career seekers to meet one another, establish professional relationships, and discuss potential job and internship opportunities.

Students are encouraged to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resumes.

The event is free and open to the community, students, and career seekers of all ages.
