(Clarksdale, Mississippi) – Coahoma Community College (CCC) is excited to host its Spring 2025 High School Day, a signature event designed to introduce high school students to the vibrant academic and social life at CCC. Set to take place on Wednesday, March 26 at 9:00 AM, the college anticipates welcoming over 600 students from across the region for an engaging, fun-filled experience that blends education, entertainment, and campus exploration.
With this semester’s theme, “Trail Rides and Boots,” students will embark on a journey to discover the many opportunities awaiting them at CCC. The event will feature interactive learning experiences, campus tours, student engagement activities, and exciting prize giveaways, ensuring that students leave with valuable insights into their potential future at the college.
Hosting the event and bringing high-energy entertainment to the day’s festivities are the popular DJ iPod and Taye Cheesy, who will keep the crowd engaged with music, games, and interactive segments. Students will have the chance to meet CCC faculty, staff, and current students to learn about academic programs, extracurricular activities, and student support services.
Dr. Nekedra Blockett, Director of Admissions and the driving force behind this event, emphasized the importance of High School Day as an opportunity for students to connect with CCC in a meaningful way.
“High School Day is not just about exploring a college campus—it’s about finding a place where students can see themselves thriving academically, socially, and personally,” said Dr. Blockett. “We want them to experience firsthand the sense of community and support that CCC offers, while also having an incredible time meeting new friends and future classmates.”
In addition to the day’s engaging activities, a variety of food trucks will be available on campus, allowing students to enjoy delicious meals and continue socializing after the event. The combination of learning, fun, and great food is sure to make this an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
Coahoma Community College encourages all interested high school students, educators, and counselors to take advantage of this unique opportunity to immerse themselves in CCC’s dynamic campus life. Whether students are considering enrolling in workforce training programs, transferring to a four-year university, or participating in extracurricular activities, High School Day will provide the resources and insights they need to make informed decisions about their educational future.
