(Clarksdale, Mississippi) Coahoma Community College’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) is expanding its impact beyond campus by supporting the professional advancement of individuals throughout the region. Recently, Barbara Silas, a community member, shared her appreciation for the Center’s guidance in helping her obtain Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain her professional credentials.

“I am writing to sincerely thank you for your support and assistance in helping me obtain my Continuing Education Units,” Silas said. “Your guidance and effort made the process so much smoother and less overwhelming… Thanks to your help, I was able to meet my professional requirements and continue advancing in my field with confidence.”

The CETL serves as a resource hub not only for Coahoma Community College but also for professionals across the Mississippi Delta seeking opportunities for growth. Under the leadership of Dr. Ouida McAfee, the Center offers personalized support, access to micro-credentials, academic coaching, and ongoing learning experiences that benefit both individuals and the broader community.

“Barbara Silas’s success is a testament to CETL’s mission of supporting lifelong learning,” said Dr. McAfee. “Our partnership with the Office of Educational Outreach has been vital in making CEUs accessible and meaningful. Collaboration across campus units like this ensures that we’re not only meeting academic needs but also contributing to the professional advancement of our community.”

As a regional partner in workforce and educational development, CETL continues to strengthen its role in enhancing both individual and community-wide outcomes.
