(Clarksdale, Mississippi) — The Alpha Omicron Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) received multiple prestigious honors at the Spring 2025 MS/LA Regional Awards Gala, held at the University of Mississippi. The chapter’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service was celebrated alongside other top-performing chapters from across Mississippi and Louisiana.
Alpha Omicron Pi was once again recognized as a Five Star Chapter, a distinction they have proudly maintained for the past three consecutive years. Individual members also brought home top accolades. Jamari Gladney, Vice President of Social Media, received the highly coveted Golden Key Award, presented to the chapter member who best embodies the four Hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. Gladney also received the PTK Regional Hallmark Award for Distinguished Chapter Officer, sharing this recognition with Chapter President Dumas, who was also honored in the same category for outstanding leadership.
In addition, Greg Neely was awarded the Distinguished Chapter Member Award, recognizing his dedication and contributions to the success of the chapter. For the first time in chapter history, Coahoma’s Alpha Omicron Pi Chapter earned recognition in three major categories:
- PTK Regional Hallmark for Honors in Action
- PTK Regional Hallmark for College Project
- PTK Regional Hallmark for Most Distinguished Chapter Finalist
These honors underscore the chapter’s innovative programming and commitment to civic engagement, academic research, and institutional collaboration. JoHarrison Rockett received the Paragon Award for New Advisors, a prestigious regional honor given to advisors with fewer than four years of service who demonstrate exceptional mentorship and dedication to student success.
“I am incredibly proud of our chapter and all that we’ve accomplished,” said Rockett. “To see our students step into leadership roles, commit to service, and be recognized on a regional level is truly rewarding. This is only the beginning of what we’re capable of achieving together.”
The recognition received by the Alpha Omicron Pi Chapter at the Spring 2025 Regional Awards Gala reflects the hard work and passion of its members and leadership. Coahoma Community College celebrates their achievements and looks forward to the continued success of this distinguished organization.
