(Clarksdale, Mississippi) — Coahoma Community College is proud to announce the return of STEM Camp 2025, an immersive and educational summer experience designed to ignite curiosity and build skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Taking place June 9–13 on the college’s main campus, this hands-on camp is open to students entering grades 7–12 and is completely free of charge.
Throughout the week, participants will explore a range of high-demand, high-skill career paths through engaging activities and real-world simulations. Campers will rotate through a variety of workshops that offer firsthand experiences in aviation, automotive technology, welding, electronics, robotics, and more. Whether flying a drone, wiring circuits, welding metal, or diagnosing engines, students will be learning by doing—with guidance from expert instructors and industry professionals.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome students from across the region to STEM Camp 2025,” said Dr. Larry Webster, Dean of Career & Technical Education at Coahoma Community College. “This camp is not only a fun and interactive way to spend a summer week, but it also helps students build confidence, discover new interests, and consider future career opportunities in technical and scientific fields. The earlier we can expose them to these possibilities, the more likely they are to pursue them.”
In addition to technical training, the camp will also emphasize teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving through structured challenges and group activities. Students will gain exposure to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, while also building connections with mentors and peers who share similar interests.
Lunch and snacks will be provided daily, and all necessary materials and safety equipment will be supplied by the college.
Parents and students are encouraged to act quickly—spaces are limited and tend to fill up fast. Applications are currently open and can be completed online at www.coahomacc.edu/cte-stem.
