Mission

The mission of the Associate Degree Nursing Program is to provide an accessible, diverse, quality, and equitable associate degree nursing program to prepare highly educated, dedicated, and motivated registered nurses for the community served by Coahoma Community College and beyond. The nursing faculty’s philosophical beliefs and values in regard to the concepts of Nursing, Society, Client, Health and Teaching/Learning provide the foundation for the curriculum and are reflected in the end-of-program student learning outcomes as they progress through the program of study.

Nursing Education Unit Goals

To prepare the associate degree nursing graduate with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to successfully complete the credentialing process to practice as a registered nurse.

To prepare the associate degree nursing graduate with the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to enter the healthcare workforce and practice as a productive member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

To provide health care agencies and facilities with quality, respected registered nurses who are caring, independent thinkers and have the clinical reasoning skills needed to practice with excellence in the community in which they serve.
