Financial Aid Requirements
Students wishing to receive federal student aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) via the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please designate Coahoma Community College School Code 002401 as a recipient to receive the data.
What is required for students to apply for 2014-2015 FAFSA online, and use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool?
Students and parents must have a Federal Student Aid Pin Number, accessible at www.pin.ed.gov.
Students who have already filed the 2014-2015 FAFSA, and did not use the IRS data retrieval tool:
- Go to www.fafsa.gov
- Please log into your FAFSA record.
- Select “Make FAFSA Corrections.”
- Navigate to the Financial Information section of the form.
- Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer 2013 IRS income tax information into your FAFSA.
Student/parents who filed a 2013 Tax Return and are unable to use IRS Data Retrieval Tool will need to request from IRS their 2013 IRS tax return transcript (s) online at www.IRS.gov, or call 1-800-829-1040, and turn in a hard copy to the Financial Aid Office
What is required for the Financial Aid Office to process the 2014-2015 FAFSA (hard copy)?
Student/parents who filed a 2013 Tax Return; will need to request from IRS their 2013 IRS tax return transcript (s) online at www.IRS.gov, or call 1-800-829-1040, and turn in a hard copy to the Financial Aid Office with the following: FAFSA Application, Identity & Statement of Education Purpose; Copy of a valid government-issued photo Identification (ID), Dependent/or Independent worksheet. All forms must be completed and have appropriate signatures
