The Mississippi Delta Tennessee Williams Festival is pleased to announce that attendees
at Friday’s events have the opportunity to earn .6 CEU’s. The lectures are free but there is a $15 fee to cover the processing cost of CEU’s.
The conference opens at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, in Clarksdale’s Civic Auditorium.
Sessions will include scenes from the Glass Menagerie presented by veteran Theatre
Oxford actor Susan McPhail portraying Amanda Wingfield following her recent success as Beulah in "A Walk in
the Woods" with Nick Nolte and Robert Redford; a discussion of the drama by Dr. Ann Fisher-Wirth and Tom “Coop” Cooper moderated by Dr. Colby Kullman; a keynote address on the 60th Anniversary of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by acclaimed Williams Scholar Dr. Kenneth Holditch, co-editor of the Library of America’s two-volume collection of Williams’ plays;
a screening of “The Delta and A Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” followed by Q&A with Filmmaker
Karen Kohlhaas; and a discussion with author/theatre critic John Lahr, winner of the 2014 National Book Critics Circle Award for his acclaimed biography
of Williams.
Presentations will be given in the Clarksdale Civic Auditorium at 506 East Second
Street beginning at 9:30 and ending at 4:30 with lunch on your own. Although the
presentations are free, educators wishing to earn CEU’s must register the day of the
event; pay the $15 processing fee; and complete an evaluation form. Applications will be processed after these steps
are completed and teachers will receive .6 CEU credits.
